Feate — Mortals

What are the poems
colors bright as the wings
of butterflies, what jewels
to crown the short, short day?

The Festival of Poets, late
under a moon,  dance melting
into castanets, a guitar mingling
with the lanterns of this night.

Come, come...all is one

Luces sobres las aquas:
    animas navegantes*
Lights over the waters:
    souls voyaging

A crossing between worlds,
the slow voyage home.

*Octavio Paz

  1. This is incredibly beautiful, Lorna. The slow voyage home.....makes me think of both Real Toads and dVerse, celebrating one year anniversaries right now, both venues that are safe ports for poets. Very lovely writing. The Paz quote is wonderful!
