I used to hear coyotes every night when I lived in a pretty valley near the coast in the southwestern corner of British Columbia. Now I'm living on the desert part of the prairie in Alberta, and I see coyotes a few times a year, but I never hear them. K
Lovely as always. (The only time I have ever heard a coyote was when I was in Lamesa, Texas in 2006 and friends and I had just done a Beltane ritual. As if in response - pretty magickal!)
I heard them one moonlit night a distance away from my friend's house...it was magical. Here, our resident dogs howl like wolves. I like to pretend it's wolf howls I'm listening to, instead of golden retrievers the size of walruses:)

There are lots around Bend, Oregon. There's a canyon very near us and it amplifies their howls. Quite something.

ReplyDeleteSounds really special. Do the dingos howl?
