The midnight train
can't keep time,
it howled at 1 a.m.
My sleeping dream
followed it South
towards the California line
and met the Spring,
coming North, so soft
and sweet and warm.

This is great, short but filled with so much. Well written.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'd remember that dream too. It's one of those dreams I'd rather have in color, but the excitement gets me even in black and white. And yes, sometimes my dreams are in B&W!
ReplyDeleteOh, those late-night train howls are so evocative! You have woven a beautiful piece around this one.
ReplyDeleteGood things happen at unexpected times. It's just about getting the right connections! Nicely Lorna!
