bar-headed geese fly
over Mount Malika
Aeolian prayers
wind carried longing for home
lush valleys, dancing cranes
my prayer flags whisper
please, please remember me
don't leave me in this cold
above Shiva's mountain
vast winds lift those holy geese
it is no small thing to reach
the peak of the earth
on a dream I might ride
the earth circling river
and remember my ancient wings
over Mount Malika
Aeolian prayers
wind carried longing for home
lush valleys, dancing cranes
my prayer flags whisper
please, please remember me
don't leave me in this cold
above Shiva's mountain
vast winds lift those holy geese
it is no small thing to reach
the peak of the earth
on a dream I might ride
the earth circling river
and remember my ancient wings
This is lovely, Lorna. "on a dream I might ride // the earth circling river" is a beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous - the prayer flags, the peaks and, especially, "remember my ancient wings". Wow!

And they do, those beautiful geese. A lovely nature poem.
A lovely write, Lorna.

Lorna, from the geese to your own dream wings, this is glorious. I fly a lot in my dreams, so I could see in my mind your voyage, and I hope your "ancient wings" (I'm thinking ancestral, not that you are old!) take you there. Peace, Amy
