Haiga

Gesso this wood, sand it  fine
careful now, this needs to be
right, so that it says it well,
from hidden depths this river flows

unknowing to the vast sky.
Trim it clean, edges align,

holding fast a moving world.
Encaustic icon, to rewind
time, a heart beat, just to tell

there is nothing you can bind,
sweet one, and that is well,
            that is well.
