Flamenco at El Farol

A white horse running
across a ghostly canyon—
a present mind yearning

the dancer
stops it,
bridles time,
shocks it
into her feet,
into her castanets,
her arching body,
staring beyond
into death and love.
It's all one,
the tragic
marvelous,
stomping
death,
chanting
love,
never giving way.

  1. staring beyond
    into death and love...

For me, these words exactly describe the deep expression on the dancer's face. Well done.
