Violet Mouse

slowly violet mouse
passing through the lavender
a sweet fresh scent
white violets, a pale quilted dawn
this hushed pilgrim pathway

  1. Lovely, Lorna. The color imagery is wonderful.

I like the idea of the mouse, which tends to have negative associations, picking up a "fresh scent". Nice play on words.

  2. Hmm. Interesting to think of the mouse's way as "pilgrim's pathway" in a "quilted dawn."
