The Night Runner the edge of a tidal reach
out of a dark nothing
hitting the beach hard.
The wild grasses,
broken storm fences,
lean toward him
then vanish as clouds
rush across the cold
crescent moonlight.
Easier to glimpse the white
wave break, but he is too dark
as he passes fast and is gone.
