a scar
blinking, faded
white storyline to hit
hidden fallings, left forgotten
now breaking out, a sign, the certain curse
best left to night or tidal reach
best given to the moon
to wash away
a scar

The title and repeating line, a scar, speaks of a deep emotional issue ~ There are scars that never fades or ever washed away ~ Beautiful work on the form ~
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up to Sunday's Challenge ~
Happy weekend ~
This poem is very evocative. The images are tightly woven thanks to the style, and I really like the inter-play of light and dark.
ReplyDeleteScar can even be the source of inspiration for a poet... nice one...
ReplyDeleteSuch pain in this, wonderful
ReplyDeleteI love the description, "storyline," so true...they do hold stories. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThere is much in this one despite it's compact form. Well done!
ReplyDeletegosh this one is piercing. excellent.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish scars could be washed away ... your poem touched me deeply.
ReplyDeleteThis hit me right in the heart... "white storylines." There are so many stories to be told by scars, but these sound like they were left by particularly disturbing wounds.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted on Real Toads, so I could see your offering. Peace, Amy
